Big Sunspot 1678 Lets Loose on the Sun's Western Limb

  X-ray background levels were on the rise earlier today from what appears to be a LDE flare from big sunspot 1678 that just rotated over the Sun's western limb. The solar flare reached it's highest level of  C4.7 at 16:09 UTC Today.

 



If sunspot 1678 had still been Earth facing at the time of this flare, this flare would have more than likely registered in the high M range.

Update:

FARSIDE HOTSPOT: As big sunspot AR1678 departs, another active region is approaching. NASA's STEREO-B probe, stationed over the farside of the sun, is monitoring a significant ultraviolet hotspot. It is circled in this 360-degree Stoneyhurst projection of the entire solar surface:

This is the same sunspot region MSA has been watching all week. looks like we may be in for some solar action soon

  3. i worked in the nuclear industry this site has iitteraly help save my life.i am dying of radiation posining.this site has help me to understand radiation.since getting into it,i have made some adjustments to lifestyle and diet.actualy does look like there is some future(short but i should already be gone)for me.thanks you

  4. sunspot 1678 is not earth facing. It is now on the far western limb of the solar disk
